This is a story of a Restoration

I restored this boat from April 2006 to October 2008. You will need to go to the very bottom, October 2008, to find the biginning. See blog archive on the right side.

My January 2010 Trip

This is my trip to Arizona, Death Valley and California.

Us three. Ned, 85, Ron, 81, and Yours Truly, 73, the squirt.

These are pictures of Death Valley.

Rock wall with inlaid stones.

More inlaid stones.

Rock wall with little barrel cactus clinging to the side.

We encountered snow at 7000 feet on Hunter Mountain. We had to winch ourselves up the road for about 100 yards.

Tortured rock layers in Titus Canyon.

At Teakettle Junction, on the way to the RaceTrack.

Trails of moving rocks.

A rock that moved.

We had to leave early, because that winter storm that hit CA. was on the way. We then went to Angels Camp to visit Ron, and it rained for 4 days. He got 7 inches at his home. We then headed back to Bagdad, AZ, before my car got stranded on the wrong side of a mountain wash gully. After I left Ned's place, it rained 3 inches in the desert, and washed out his road. I stayed in Cedar City, UT, and woke up to 4 inches of snow. There was 4 inches of snow when I got home.
Until next years trip. But boat show will be coming this summer.

Hey, I'm FIRST! HA!!

I just wanted to say them are the best darn spuds I ever did taste. Seriously. I didn't know there was a difference between spuds. A spud is a spud is a spud. I just bought a whole bag of fresh Ideeho spuds at Thanksgiving and they tweren't half as good as yours.

MAHALO!

I also want to say that I can't believe you're showing pictures of tortured rocks. Someone needs to censor you. That's just graphic. Naked boats and now tortured rocks!!!!???

I also want to say that you are forgiven for not liking my playlist. It really doesn't require forgiveness as I wasn't really insulted at all since I don't love playlists on blogs either, hee hee, but since you apologized I thought I should extend my mercy.

Glad you had a good trip.

Thank you, Crash! These spuds are different because of the heavy soil they are grown in. Only about half of the spuds in the grocery stores are grown in heavy loome soil. Also, these spuds were picked off the conveyer belt before they get to the cellar, and they are not washed. All these things makes for a better tasting spud.

We only saw 1/3 of Death Valley, so I will be going back again some year.

And I am so glad for your forgivness, I'm afraid I am still in trouble with my daughter.

On a personal note... love the pic of you and your honey, you'll be with her before you know it! She is beautiful!

Thanks, H & Q. Were you talking about my beautiful wife, or my boat? Hee Hee

HA! To what you said to Queen. About your boat. hee hee hee

Shucks! Are you really in trouble with your daughter? I think she's forgiven our thoughtlessness. I hope. FINGERS CROSSED! It was all kinda spur-of-the-moment. But let's not let it happen again.

She's OK with it Crash. She just made me sleep in the basement last time.

K - for the record, he ALWAYS sleeps in the basement when he visits, at his own request. I sleep in the basement too, for that matter. :P

And I need more info about these moving rocks. Was it the wind that pushed them? THat's a little freaky.

Lisa, from my study of the research others have accumulated, a special combination of wet mud, ice and wind. And yet you can see that one rock had a point that dug into the mud on one side, and still slid along without twirling to one side.

I think it is one of the most awsome things I've seen.
